Lazy Daisy Gift Set

We have had a lot of spring type weather where I live. Normally we are covered in a ton of snow at this time of year, but this year we have had a lot of sun and double digit temperatures. It feels like spring and spring to me means flowers!!

I planted some daffodil bulbs in the summer and they have started to come up already! I am hoping the little bit of snow and freezing temperatures we had on the weekend don't kill them but somehow I think they will be alright. The new daffodils and a tulip coming up inspired my cards for this week. I decided to do a card gift set featuring the Lazy Daisy Lady Bug stamp and a number of sentiments from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. Am I the only one ready to see some spring flower beauty in the flower beds?

After stamping the image 5 times on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured them with Copic markers and cut them out using a square die. Next, I grabbed my Misti and some of my favourite High Hopes sentiment and stamped each daisy with it's own sentiment. Truth be told, the two smaller Just A Note cards are the result of a sentiment I masked off that I didn't stamp straight, so I trimmed them down to create two smaller cards. I wanted to keep the design clean and simple for this set and added them to a piece of black card stock. There are three 4.5" x 4.5" cards and two approximately 4" x 3.25" cards in this set and I am hoping someone in my life will be able to use them.

1st Birthday

I love to colour and have a drawer in my craft room with a lot of coloured High Hopes Stamps in it. This week, I challenged myself to go through the drawer and see what inspired me. "Baby Elephant" jumped out at me, I thought he would be perfect for a first birthday card.

I stamped this cutie on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and then hand fussy cut the stamp leaving a thin white line. Patterned paper from Echo Park and PhotoPlay were perfect for this adorable stamp and I cut them to fit the A2 size card base and design. To create the sentiment, I masked off each word and stamped them in a line (the sentiment is stacked) leaving enough room for a die cut number 1 and hand printed "st". To finish off hte card I added some die cut balloons, enamel dots and the stamp is added with 3D foam pop dots.

Snuggles

I decided to challenge myself to use a stamp for a card in a non traditional way. When I saw the Snuggles and Cuddles stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps I immediately thought Mother's Day even though this isn't necessarily a traditional Mother's Day stamp. I am blessed to have my Mom close by and there is nothing like being able to drop in for a visit.... which always includes a hug or two <smile>

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured up this adorable stamp with Copic markers and cut it out using a label die. The die had a scalloped edge on top but I decided to remove the scallops as they just didn't feel right. I cut card stock to go behind it and decided to tilt it slightly to create some interest on the card. It was pretty plain so I used a small heart die to cut out three hearts down the side. I added some even smaller hearts in the middle just for fun. I cut a piece of patterned paper from an old Kaisercraft pad to fit the 5" x 5" base and used the cut off piece to go across the middle.

The sentiment was stamped, cut out with an oval die and put on matching card stock. The white edges on the patterned paper and sentiment were inked with Antique Linen Oxide Distress Ink to help the layers stand out. Some heart cut outs in the corner, ribbon and enamel dots finish off my card.

Friendship

This week on my blog I am celebrating friendship. Friends come in all shapes and sizes and "Fish Kiss" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps was perfect for my card.

This inspiration for this card came from a young man in my life who has an amazing relationship and friendship with his grand parents. He will drop everything to come and help them if they need it and when he has good news or bad, they are often one of the first people he talks to and tells. He is an amazing young man and doesn't expect any more then a thank you from them when he has done something for them......or a good home cooked meal <smile>. I hope you enjoy my card and appreciate the friends you have in your life as much as I do.

I stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured with Copic markers and hand fussy cut the image. I ran a black marker around the outside to get any white I had missed. A combination of patterned paper from Honey Bee and Mintay were cut to fit my 5" x 5" card base. To create the scene in the middle, I cut some trees and "snow banks" with a die cuts and added some blue toned paper to look like ice for the fish. The sentiment was stamped, cut and mounted on matching card stock and the twine I put across the bottom. Enamel dots finish off my card.

Wryn Baker Birthday

I had a special order card order for the first time in a long time. It is for a co worker of my Mom's for her grand daughter. I didn't have a lot of information other than she likes to bake and she has blonde hair. She chose Wryn-Baker from the baking themed stamps I have in my stamp stash so I got to work. She will have it by the time this post goes live.........crossing my fingers she likes it!

This is digital stamp so after I sized it to what I wanted, I printed it and coloured it with Copic markers. I cut it out using a wonky stitched rectangle die and set it aside. Next, I cut patterned paper from three different companies to fit the card design. The water color paper was stamped using a cupcake stamp I had in my stash to add some fun to the card. I cut the spoon and whisk out of matching card stock and inked them and all the paper edges with Old Paper Distress ink. I stamped two different sentiments to create one and put it on matching card stock. Some enamel dots finish off my card.

Better Quickly

I seem to have a lot of people around me who are sick, not feeling well or have had surgery. I myself haven't been feeling well for about 10 days so I thought I would make myself a get well card.....just kidding! I decided one of my family and friends who aren't feeling well needed a card featuring Sick Bird from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

After stamping and colouring with Copic markers, I hand fussy cut the stamp leaving a thin white line. The patterned paper I used is from Elizabeth Craft Designs as I wanted a soft yellow - to me yellow is comforting when you aren't feeling well. I cut the paper to fit my 5" x 5" base and to fit the design I had in mind. The sentiment was stamped and glued down on some matching card stock and added to the card. I added some flowers from my stash, some ribbon and a bow and glitter dots to finish off my card.

Here's The Scoop!

I love to have cards in my stash that I can just grab, address and send to a friend or family member who might need a pick me up. I also like having thank you cards at the ready and this week I made a non traditional thank you card featuring "L'il Frosty" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. We all need to feel appreciated and I think this is a fun way to say thank you to someone who has gone over and above for me.

I stamped the image, coloured it with Copic markers and hand fussy cut it. I ran a black marker around the edge when I was done cutting to get any white I may have missed. Patterned paper from Lawn Fawn was cut to fit the 4.5" x 5.5" base I had created so I cut the striped paper to fit. Next I cut some matching paper and card stock with fish tail banner dies to put behind the stamp and layered them. I stamped and cut out the sentiments, put them on matching card stock and glued them on two different parts of the card. The stamp is popped up with foam pop dots and enamel dots finish off my card.
